Charlotte Soens was born and raised in Munich, Germany. There she began painting at an early age, and eventually moved on to develop her technique with European masters. Since then she has lived in Hollywood, Florida, and New England for 25 years, currently she resides in Austin, Texas.

Her house in Connecticut was surrounded by lots of wildlife, including an aged flower garden, and a rescued Golden Retriever. These became her main source of inspiration, leading to her expertise in floral paintings and dog portraits.

Her artwork is created with quality oil paints on canvas. Recently she has abandoned using frames for paintings, preferring to use "box" style canvases, where she continues the painting around the edges. See her gallery for examples of her portraits and other paintings.
